Brooklyn Marathon

Got to play photo assistant to celebrity pro photographer James Farrell of Warpt Photo fame this weekend on one of his assignments for Runner's World magazine. We covered the first annual Brooklyn Marathon held in Prospect Park. My job duties included holding coffee, throwing leaves, verbal sparring unruly Brooklyn-ites that dared mess with James' "art", and camera caddying.
Top quotes of the event:
"I'm gonna win dis' fuckin' race, you should be taken' my pitcha!"
-Marathon contestant, obviously local, to James and I.
"Watch where you goin' Romeo!"
-Marathon contestant after colliding with a random guy walking with his girlfriend on course.
"I can't believe I fuckin' created dis!"
-Marathon organizer talking to himself
"I'm doing dis' for nine eleven.."
-Elder marathon contestant repeated this 3 times over the course of the race to us and even stopped mid-marathon to show us the back of his shirt that indeed read This is for 9/11.
James and the winner.

A stop by:Premier Skate Shop

Stopped at Premier Skate Shop to pick up a copy of their new movie "Post-Script," shit is ill! Buy it here! Also found out that 100% of the movie proceeds go to buying bags of concrete for their DIY spot at Clemente Park. Great cause, press play on buying dem shits!
Along with being Michigan's "premier" skate shop(Pun Bonus!?), the owners at Premier have taken on the special needs kids cause and let a group of them sweep up the shop. Pictured above is one of their goofy bas-Tards, Sean McMahon. Sean is autistic-ish but uses his freak strength and blank stares to pop moon-high ollies. You can see Sean's talent in the last segment of Premier's new vid.
Best money ever spent.
Another gaggle of "specials" skating out front of the shop.
Side note: I had to stop and pick up Braydon's boards from his sponsor Waters & Army at the shop. The homo-eroticism in this graphic is spot-on for Braydon's style and my liking. Two thumbs up from this guy!

Premier Skate Shop

Homies at Premier Skate Shop never cease to amaze me. Thanks Josh!

Diverted to Michigan

Ended up getting stuck in Michigan on the way back from New York due to a bunch of broken planes. Went out skating with Braydon Kavanagh to kill time and ended up with this.

Mr. Moustache

Couple phone pics I took of his tags around Brooklyn. Shit is hilarious. Figures though, that the day after I find out about him he gets arrested. Moral of the story; don't tell tourists about anything cool, they'll just ruin it.

Columbus Day

Great day of skating Columbus with Rob Ford, PatChuck, and Andrew Martin. Haven't skated with these guys since our trip to Albuquerque so today was a nice reunion of some sorts at Powell Skate Park.
